We are thrilled to share that it has been one year since we made our very first microgreens sale! Our journey began with a handful of wonderful folks up on Riverview Drive in Post Falls, and it has been an incredible year of growth and learning ever since.
Our Origins: A Response to the Food Industry
EdenGreen was born out of frustration with the current food industry status quo. Decades of conventional agricultural practices have not only depleted the nutrients in our soil but have also toxified it with pesticides like Roundup, disrupting the natural microbiotic ecosystem that fosters healthy soil and protects against pathogens. To make matters worse, the industry now often coats our food to "preserve" it, and creates genetically modified "super-plants" designed to resist bugs, pathogens, and even pesticides.
In the face of these challenges, we discovered an elegant solution: microgreens. We began growing microgreens for our own family, choosing our seeds carefully and cultivating nutrient-dense food without the use of pesticides, chemicals, or genetic modifications. We knew exactly where our food came from and how it was grown—a profound relief in today’s world.
The Birth of EdenGreen
Our journey started on a stormy early summer day, with wind, thunder, lightning, and heavy rain pounding on the metal roof of the pavilion as we sowed our first seeds. Our first meal with our homegrown microgreens was on Father’s Day weekend, a celebration marked by Croque Madame (an elaborate French ham & cheese sandwich topped with an egg) on Saturday, and Scotch Eggs on Sunday. We were hooked! Even the kids couldn't get enough, and we knew we had something special.
We firmly believe that nutrition should come from the food we eat because that’s how our bodies are made to function. Our connection to nature is powerful, and our bodies are designed to absorb nutrients from food in their most natural, bioavailable forms—something that synthetic supplements simply can’t replicate. The more we consume foods from the earth, the healthier our bodies become. This belief in natural nutrition inspired us to start EdenGreen, with the goal of sharing the truth about how to return to the way things are meant to be.
From Our Family to Yours
Later that month, we shared our microgreens with friends at a BBQ, and they loved them so much that we began trading raw milk for microgreens. Word spread quickly, and soon we found ourselves growing and sharing microgreens with even more people. What began as a personal endeavor blossomed into a passion for providing others with the same nutrient-rich, fresh produce that had transformed our own meals.
